Garett Davis Looking to Get Back on Track at “Mile Zero”

Later this week, Garett Davis will head to Dawson Creek, British Columbia, in search of the KOTC Canadian welterweight champ’s fourth victory since returning from a 15 month layoff last year. When Davis steps into the cage Friday night at the Encana Centre, he will take on American Gabe Rivas, who like himself is a veteran of well over 20 professional fights.

 “I’ve seen several of his fights,” said Davis when asked what he knows about his next opponent. “It looks like he likes to go out and throw big heavy bombs, big looping lefts, big looping rights. He doesn’t appear to have too much in the way of wrestling defence or jiu-jitsu defence, so I’m going to do my game, take him down and submit him. People that know me know there’s no big secrets in terms of my style.”

After Run of Injuries, Dan Shenk Anxious to Return at “Mile Zero”

Although it’s been a disappointing couple of years in the decade long career of Dan Shenk, as a run of injuries have kept the veteran on the sidelines, at long last the Prince George middleweight will get to fight later this month. Shenk will make his return against Kris Miskenack at King of the Cage Canada’s April 29^th “Mile Zero” event in Dawson Creek, B.C., and the 32 year-old couldn’t be happier about it.

“I’ve been plagued with injuries,” said Shenk, while discussing the fact he has not fought since April, 2009. “I’ve been slated to fight for Aggression, I’ve been scheduled to fight for KOTC twice, and I was supposed to fight for Bill Mahood’s card, the XFC. It’s just been injury after injury after injury.”

Chad Freeman Excited About Championship Win; Eyeing World Title

Chad Freeman continued his winning ways in impressive fashion last month at King of the Cage Canada’s “Brawl in the Mall 4” event, by stopping fellow vet Troy Sorensen in the first round to become the promotion’s new Canadian lightweight champ. The victory extended the 33 year-old-fighter’s winning streak to four and served further notice to the MMA world that Freeman is on the rise.

Ryan Knysh Talks Championship Win; Open to Rubber Match with Clay Sheen

Last month Ryan Knysh informed King of the Cage Canada that there was “going to be a different outcome” in his March 18^th rematch with Clayton Sheen. Despite being submitted by the experienced grappler during their first encounter in January, 2010, the 23 year-old-fighter’s confidence in his abilities never wavered, and at Brawl in the Mall 4 on March 18^th, Knysh made good on his prediction.
